Did you know that you can have a Google Business Profile even if you're a virtual business? Having a profile enhances your visibility, credibility, and client engagement.
Why having a Google Business Profile is important
Increased visibility: Even without a physical location, a GBP allows your business to appear in local search results, Google Maps, and organic search results.
SEO Benefits: Google prioritizes businesses with GBP listings in search results, boosting your chances of appearing for relevant searches. Keywords in your profile can enhance your ranking.
Client Engagement: Your GBP lets you respond to customer reviews, answer questions, and post updates to keep your audience informed and engaged. Features like messaging allow direct communication with potential clients.
Showcase Virtual Services: You can list your services, include appointment booking links, and highlight unique offerings, making it clear you operate virtually.
How to optimize your Google Business Profile
Complete Your Profile: Include your business name, category, phone number, website, and hours of operation.
Add High-Quality Media: Make your profile more appealing by adding professional images of yourself, your in-home office, your logo, etc.
Leverage Keywords: Use keywords in your business description, services, and posts that reflect what customers might search for. For example, “virtual therapy for…” or “life coaching for..”
Encourage and Respond to Reviews: If you're in the mental health field, you may not have that many reviews and that's okay! You can, however, respond to any reviews with a simple “thank you”. It shows you're active on your profile.
Add updates regularly: Post about new services, certifications, new achievements, media releases, etc. to keep your profile active. You can use Google Posts to share resources too.
Include FAQ: Add commonly asked questions and answers to preemptively address client concerns. Use keywords and key phrases like “Women-led” or “LGBTQ+ friendly” to showcase your unique features.
Stay Consistent: Make sure that your name, website, and phone number are written consistently across all platforms (social media, website, directories, etc.) to improve your local SEO.
Track Performance: A key part of optimizing your Google Business Profile is to use Google analytics to understand how clients are finding you and what actions they take once they find you. Adjust your strategy based on the findings.
Don't feel like doing this on your own?
I always say that delegating tasks that you don't love or know how to do for your business is the best way to grow.
